VOLUME CALCULATOR
By using our volume calculator, you can ensure that you purchase the correct amount of mulch or soil for your project!
Step 1
Determine the shape of the area to be covered with mulch or soil. Is it rectangular, circular, or irregularly shaped? This will help you choose the right formula for calculating volume.
Step 2
Measure the dimensions of the area in feet. For example, if the area is rectangular, measure the length and width. If it’s circular, measure the diameter. If it’s irregularly shaped, you may need to break it down into smaller sections and measure each one separately. Then add the irregular sides into an approximate Length x Width.
Step 3
Enter the measurements into the appropriate fields in the volume calculator. Choose a depth for the material, we recommend 4 inches for mulch, 2
inches for soil for new garden beds.
The calculator will then provide you with the volume of material you need in cubic yards, each of our Supersacs and many of our bulk materials are measured by cubic yard. This will help you determine how much mulch or soil to purchase for your project.
