    We will be having several black walnut trees removed from our back yard at the end of the month and want to plant new (less messy) trees. (We have a pool near the site). My question is, what trees are best as I know not all trees will grow after black walnuts have been growing in the area. (We were thinking a medium height red maple)
    Also, when would be the best time to plant new trees.
